Hong Kong singer-actor Aaron Kwok held a press conference on Tuesday (June 25) to promote his upcoming concerts, which will be held on September 13 and 14 at the Taipei Arena.

During the press conference, he shared more about his life as a father, having just welcomed his younger daughter into the family in April this year. When asked if he had heard of the new nickname for the ‘Four Heavenly Kings’ (comprised of Hong Kong actor-singers Jacky Cheung, Andy Lau, Leon Lai and Aaron), the ‘Four Heavenly Father-in-laws’, Aaron chuckled and shared that he had indeed heard of it. “It's such a coincidence,” he commented. The new nickname had come about as all their children are girls.

Aaron revealed that he used to think that he needed to have son, but has since changed his mindset after having daughters.

“After becoming a father, I don’t think like that anymore. When I knew that I was going to have a daughter, seeing her being born, and watching her slowly grow up… Having a daughter is really different. They’ll run over to stick to you and kiss you, which is very touching,” he said.

As he’s slowly becoming busier with his work, the 53-year-old shared that he has installed cameras in his daughters' rooms so that he can check up on them even when he’s not home. Aaron called himself a strict parent who places emphasis on the education of his kids. With his eldest daughter Chantelle turning two this year, and his younger daughter, nicknamed Guo Erbao turning three-months-old, Aaron said that he will not be allowing them to use iPads or other electronic devices.

“My eldest had a period where she was more rebellious, and was easily distracted and fidgety, but would settle down when we gave her something to watch (on the iPad). After she grew older, we felt that it wasn’t right. Now, we're giving her picture books to read instead,” he revealed.

His two daughters are currently being cared for by his wife, Chinese model Moka Fang’s mother, who mainly speaks to them in Mandarin. When Aaron speaks to them, however, he uses Cantonese. They’re also learning to speak English at the same time, making them multilingual.

“She (Chantelle) knows my English name too,” the proud father boasted. He also shared that Chantelle will automatically dance along when his hit song, ‘Dui Ni Ai Bu Wan’ plays, and that he intends to send her for piano lessons when she’s older if she shows an interest in music.

Finally, the actor-singer will be shelving his plans for a third child after seeing how much Moka suffered while pregnant with their second child. “I respect my wife. This pregnancy was very difficult for her, so I don’t have any plans to try for a third child for now,” he said.
