Ady An dismisses claims about being a step-mother

Taiwanese actress Ady An recently refuted rumours that claimed she was a step-mother to her businessman husband, Chen Ronglian’s 8-year-old daughter from a previous marriage.

It was reported by Taiwanese media yesterday that before he met Ady, Ronglian was previously married for about 10 years before he and his ex-wife decided to call it quits.

However even after their split, the couple still remained on good terms and shared custody over their daughter. Ronglian would not only contribute a large sum of money for their monthly expenses, but would also make an effort to show up for all of his daughter’s activities and performances.

Ady was then said to have kept an open mind and had no objections regarding her husband’s frequent interactions with his ex-wife. She felt that because the ex-couple had a long history together, it was only normal that they kept in contact. It was reported that Ady adores the 8-year-old very much and even encouraged Ronglian to visit his daughter more often so as to provide her with a good childhood.

However, less than four hours after these claims were made, Ady immediately took to Weibo at midnight to set the record straight.

“My husband has never been married and our marriage is the first time for both of us. I do not believe any of these claims as we have always been honest with one another about our previous relationships. I thank everyone for their concern but I assure you that I am currently very fortunate and happy,” Ady wrote.

Ady and Ronglian tied the knot in June this year after two years of dating. She once mentioned that the pair did not have a good impression of each other when they first met but gradually fell in love after getting to know the other party better.
