Close to four months after Hong Kong singer-actor Andy Lau’s horse-riding accident in Thailand left him bedridden, the 55-year-old was seen attending the funeral of Hong Kong film producer Chan Pui Wah, together with his wife, Malaysian Carol Chu.

Pui Wah had passed away from lymphoma at the age of 68 late last month, and Andy had often referred to her as his “benefactor”. The duo had worked together on the critically acclaimed movie, A Simple Life, which bagged Andy the Best Leading Actor award at the 48th Golden Horse Awards in 2011.

At the funeral, Andy, who was wearing a face mask, sat together with Hong Kong actress Deanie Ip, who had starred alongside him in A Simple Life, and bid farewell to the producer together.

“She treated me like a family member, and we’ve also worked together for so many years, and looked out for each other. I can’t bear to see her leave, rest in peace. I will always keep [my memories of] her close to my heart,” Andy expressed.

The singer-actor was also seen walking in and out of the venue without any assistance, and looked to be in the pink of health, to the relief of fans.

Earlier this year, Andy Lau fell off a horse while filming a commercial in Thailand and suffered serious injuries as a result. After spending close to two months recuperating in a hospital, the Heavenly King was officially discharged on March 10.
