Andy Lau denies rumours of second child

Andy Lau has denied rumours of him welcoming a second child to the family. Earlier this week, reports suggested that his wife, Carol Chu, gave birth to a baby outside of Hong Kong in early August and that the protective father chose to keep it a secret as he wishes for his children to stay out of the media’s eye.

Making his first public appearance after the rumours surfaced, the Heavenly King was asked about the allegations, to which he stated, “I’m telling everyone clearly that it isn’t true.” He also denied that he felt that his daughter was being hounded obsessively by the media. “Everyone has been giving me face and I’m able to live comfortably at home,” he shared.

The 55-year-old, who celebrated his birthday on the 27th, held an advance birthday party earlier this month, which was attended by both Carol and their daughter, Hanna. Asked if his four-year-old presented him with a gift on his special day, he chuckled, “She didn’t. She gave me something made out of modeling clay the last time but she’s been too busy recently. She did sing me a birthday song though.”

Andy and Carol have been rumoured to be trying for a second child for months, but have previously denied comment about pregnancy rumours despite the widespread speculation on a bun in the oven.
