Andy Lau is now able to walk

The singer-actor cancels his year-end concerts to focus on his recovery

Andy Lau is now able to walk

Hong Kong singer-actor Andy Lau had originally wanted to continue with his year-end concerts – all 20 of them, despite his injuries sustained from an accident while filming in Thailand earlier this year.

The 55-year-old’s company sent out a notice on Monday (March 27), stating that after discussing Andy’s condition with his medical team, they have decided to cancel his year-end concerts, as “this year is a very vital period [for his recovery].”

Andy also personally left a message on his official website to update fans on his condition, sharing that he is now able to walk for 10 minutes, with the aid of a cane. The Heavenly King also revealed that he can also stand for up to 10 minutes, unassisted.

When it came to his slow, but steady, recovery, Andy wrote, “I’m not anxious, and my family’s not anxious as well, [so] everyone, please don’t be anxious.”

Andy also thanked his company for their care in insisting that he finish his rehabilitation, and apologised to his fans, as they’d have to wait for a while more before they can see him again.

Earlier this year, Andy Lau fell off a horse while filming a commercial in Thailand and suffered serious injuries as a result. After spending close to two months recuperating in a hospital, the Heavenly King was officially discharged on March 10.
