Angelababy’s maybe-baby claims further strengthened

It seems like Angelababy’s baby news is one step away from being confirmed. Last week, her husband, Huang Xiaoming, indirectly confirmed the news with his coy reply, with many believing that she is in her first trimester.

On September 24, the couple made their appearance at the 33rd Hundred Flower Awards ceremony, which is the Chinese equivalent of the Golden Globes. There, she picked up a best supporting actress award for her role in Mojin: The Lost Legend.

Angelababy was spotted in towering high heels on the red carpet and her husband took special care to support her on the red carpet. When being interviewed by the hosts, the indirect question of, “How many people do we have standing on the stage today?” was responded to wittily by Angelababy. “There are a lot of us here!”

During her acceptance speech, the 27-year-old mused, “Thank you to Xiaoming who has stood by my side when I doubted myself along the way.” Later on when asked about his wife’s win, he quipped, “I don’t know why but I feel happier than when I won a prize myself.”

Angelababy explained in an interview afterwards, “It’s always been Mr. Huang who has been encouraging me like a parent. Just like when you send your children to school, you’ll be more nervous than they are when you see them win a prize.”

When asked about her lack of upcoming projects and her towering heels, she let on, “My heels are pretty high today because I feel that I should show everyone the most graceful side of me while I still can. I’ll take a rest when the day I don’t have energy to stand up comes.”

Following which, she was quizzed directly about her baby rumours, to which she responded, “I’d like to respond at a later time; I’ll talk about it when the time is right.”
