Annie Yi files court case against doctor

Taiwanese actress-singer Annie Yi, who gave birth to her second child in America in June this year, is currently embroiled in an ongoing dispute with her doctor.

Earlier this month, the actress took to her Weibo to rant about a negligent doctor that had caused her Cesarean section wound to become infected. Shortly after that, her doctor took to his Facebook and Weibo accounts to retaliate, denying that he was in the wrong.

Annie had alleged that the doctor, surnamed Lee, had neglected to treat her Cesarean section wound when it split open and became infected. However, Lee claims that they were scheduled to have a consultation five times, only for it to be cancelled at the last minute.

The actress-singer then took to her Weibo to reveal that she had consulted Lee in America over a period of six days, and returned to Taiwan at the start of August, where a different doctor had to schedule her for emergency surgery.

She also shared pictures of her consultation receipts in both America and Taiwan, as well as a picture of her wound that she had sent to Lee’s assistant at the start of July. The assistant then forwarded the picture to Lee in America, who told Annie that the wound was fine.

Annie shared that she initially wanted to “spare Lee”, but he had “suddenly jumped into the picture after two months, and even lied to his own lawyer”. Lee has continued to maintain his innocence by claiming to have not known that Annie’s wound had split open.

However, Annie revealed that she has a voice recording of the consultation, as well as the antibiotics prescribed by him. She then went on to share that she has already handed everything over to her lawyer, who will pursue the case in America’s courts.
