Annie Yi: “My marriage is not on the rocks”

Taiwanese singer-actress Annie Yi was criticised for her decision to walk down the aisle for a second time when she announced that she would be marrying Chinese actor Qin Hao in 2015. Despite the naysayers, the couple went on to welcome their first child together the next year, a girl.

Annie, who is currently part of the second season of reality show Super Mom together with her daughter, ‘Xiao Mi Li’ (or Little Rice Grain), was forced to clarify rumours of her marriage being on the rocks after revealing that she does not live with Qin Hao.

Reporters swarmed the filming set to probe on the reason behind their separate living arrangements. Annie quickly clarified that Qin Hao has been shuttling from city to city in recent years, and that the couple decided that Xiao Mi Li should be with her mother, who is based in Taipei, instead of constantly jetting around with her father.

The 48-year-old went on to assure the media that her husband visits her and their child whenever he is able to, and that the reason why the couple does not live together is out of love and concern for their young daughter and not because of cracks in their relationship.

Annie’s first marriage was to singer Harlem Yu, whom she had a son, Harrison, with. The former couple went their separate ways in 2009.
