Barbie Hsu’s entrepreneur husband Huang Xiaofei was recently said to have been fined NTD500,000 (approximately S$20,000) for opening his hotel, S Hotel, for business before obtaining an operating licence.

S Hotel was set to officially open its doors for business this April 15, but launched their trial period and started accepting bookings of rooms early this year, which flouted the law as they had not received their operating license yet.

In response to the incident, the hotel’s human resource representative Jesse explained that they were still in the midst of the application process for the licence, and had not received the official notice of the fine yet.

Barbie, on the other hand, wanted to “refrain from speaking on behalf of Xiaofei” to the media because she was not familiar with the operations of the hotel.

In other related news, the actress also garnered much attention on social media recently when she posted a photo of herself on Weibo wearing her sister Dee Hsu’s trademark headband with ‘cat ears’ on Sunday (Feb 19). She wrote, “Dee wears it better than me”, which amused fans.
