Carina Lau dismisses pregnancy rumours

Hong Kong actress Carina Lau recently dismissed rumours that she is 2 months pregnant, confirming speculation that the claims made by infamous blogger Song Zu De last week were false.

The actress, who was the ambassador for the Lumieres Hong Kong Festival last night, responded to the rumours for the first time, calling it a “big misunderstanding and a joke.” The 51-year-old actress said that if she did want to have children, she would find a surrogate mother instead, due to her mature age and the advanced technology.

Carina had also previously mentioned that she and her husband, actor Tony Leung, did not have plans to have children.

“Before I got married I never once thought of having children. After I got marriage, the thought would occasionally pass through my mind, but not frequently. Tony is the one who does not want children, because he is personally not fond of young kids,” Carina shared.

Tony had mentioned before that he did not want to take up the responsibility of looking after another person as he was already taking care of his mother, sister and Carina at the moment.

The couple have been together for 28 years now, but are still as loving as ever.
