Carina Lau plagued by rumours from infamous gossip king

Chinese actress Carina Lau is the latest star to be plagued by rumours from infamous gossip blogger, Song Zu De, who has claimed that the 51-year-old actress is pregnant.

The blogger, deemed ‘the King of Media Hype’, posted on Weibo yesterday that “Carina has been pregnant since September” and even backed up his statement by claiming that the source came from the Hong Kong media itself.

Many were not quick to believe the story as Zu De is one of the most controversial people in China where his allegations have always been met with criticisms from the public. This time was no different as many found it unlikely that the actress could be pregnant with her mature age. They also added that his claims were not realistic as Carina had recently taken up a new role in the upcoming drama, Half a Lifelong Romance.

Netizens also pointed out that Zu De had a long history of false statements, one of them claiming that Nicholas Tse and Faye Wong had split up.

At the same time, Carina and husband, fellow actor Tony Leung have previously made it clear that they had no intentions of having children despite being married for almost ten years now.

“I already have to take care of my mother, sister and Carina. I cannot afford to take care of more people,” Tony had said, seemingly brushing the idea of having children off.

Neither Carina nor Tony have responded to these rumours at press time.
