Cecilia Cheung’s agency dismisses marriage rumors

Marriage rumors have once again resurfaced for Hong Kong actress Cecilia Cheung and Taiwanese host He Meng Huai, who is 10 years her junior.

The pair first met on the set of Chinese reality programme, The Goddess’ Choice last year, and their intimate interactions on the show sparked talk that they were dating and that a wedding was in the cards. Though the 38-year-old actress dismissed the speculations then, new wedding rumors resurfaced yesterday (Jan 10), claiming that the pair were planning to get engaged in Bali in October.

Cecilia’s agency has since stepped up to deny the rumors, emphasising that the speculations were created with ill intentions and that the false news have “caused disruptions to Cecilia’s work and personal life”.

Cecilia has been plagued with relationship rumours since her high-profile divorce with Hong Kong actor Nicholas Tse in 2011. Last year, Cecilia took it upon herself to issue a statement after news of her “engagement” broke out, saying “she and her team would refute all lies. She also called out the people involved in spreading the rumours, criticising them for their “lack of conscience which contributes to society’s existing social problems”.
