David Tao’s birthday wish: a baby

The singer made the declaration at his concert in Shanghai

David Tao’s birthday wish: a baby

Days after David Tao’s wife, Penny Jiang, was once again rumoured to be pregnant, the singer declared his birthday wish this year to be to have a baby.

The 46-year-old is currently on his 2016 David Tao Second To None Tour, and wrapped up his gig in Shanghai on July 2. His close friend Wang Leehom made a guest appearance at the show, much to the delight of the audience.

David belted out a series of popular songs, including ‘Jin Tian Mei Hui Jia’ (loosely translated to ‘Not Going Home Tonight’), ‘Ordinary Friends’ and more. Fans roared even louder when Leehom took the stage to sing two songs with David, ‘Everything’s Gone’ and ‘Shou Qian Shou’ (loosely translated to ‘Hand in Hand’). The latter was a co-composition between the two musicians 13 years ago.

Just before the concert wrapped, his fans burst into a birthday song for the entertainer, who will be turning 47 on July 11. Sharing that his mother, Chinese opera singer Wang Fu Rong, as well as his father-in-law and wife were present for his Shanghai gig, David made the daring declaration that his birthday wish this year is “to have a baby”, adding that he is “working hard to have one”.
