Ella Chen: It’s a boy!

Last month, Ella Chen made the surprise announcement that she was pregnant with her first child. Since then, the energetic mother-to-be has been sharing daily updates of her life, much to the excitement of her fans.

Estimated to be four months pregnant at this point, the 35-year-old confirmed on Sunday (Nov 20) that she will be welcoming a son in 2017. Nicknamed ‘bundle of energy’ by herself and her fellow S.H.E members, her loved ones and fans alike have been keeping their eyes peeled on her social networking accounts on the latest updates.

Over the weekend, her husband, Malaysian businessman Alvin Lai, posted snaps of her cooking at home. What caught netizens’ attention, however, was eight black and white photos on her kitchen wall, with many believing that those are ultrasound snaps of her baby throughout her pregnancy so far.

At a recent press conference for her album, Ella laughed that she dreamed that her baby was a boy but stopped short at confirming the gender of her baby. Clarifying that she was unsure about the baby’s gender at the time, she later announced through her agency that she is expecting “a bouncing baby boy”.

Her agency, HIM International Music, explained that they did not want to make the announcement too early and waited before they were entirely sure before they did so.
