Fan Bingbing denies losing passport

Actress suspects photos of passport were secretly taken during room cleaning and makes police report

Fan Bingbing denies losing passport

Chinese actress Fan Bingbing has denied her passport was lost, and said the photos of her immigration documents circulating online were taken in her Kyoto hotel room instead.

Bingbing’s manager said that according to security footage, four housekeeping staff — three Japanese and one Chinese — were seen entering the actress’s room yesterday to clean it.

The hotel staff are suspected of taking photos of the actress’s passport and posting them online. The Chinese police are investigating this.

Bingbing’s production company posted on Weibo yesterday denying the actress had lost her passport, and shared a photo of the police investigating at the scene. The post also said the documents were still on the table in Bingbing’s manager’s Kyoto hotel room.

The supposed leak occurred on Sunday, when a netizen posted photos of the 34-year-old’s passport and said he had found it near the Shijo-karasuma station in Kyoto.
