Fan Bingbing to join Jason Statham in upcoming movie

Following reports that Hollywood star Jason Statham has taken on the lead role in the upcoming sci-fi movie Meg, Chinese actress Fan Bingbing has also reportedly signed on for a part in the thriller, which is slated to release in March 2018.

Bingbing got her first big break in Hollywood when she acted as Blink in the 2014 movie, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and later had a cameo appearance in Iron Man 3 as well, cementing her role as one of Asia’s top actresses. She was also the only Asian actress on Forbes’s list of the World Highest-Paid Actresses in 2015.

Meg will be directed by the director of National Treasure, Jon Turteltaub. As of now, Jason and Bingbing are the only two actors whose names have been linked to the film.

In recent days, the actress has been spotted with a rounder figure at a promotional event, sparking rumours of a pregnancy. Her boyfriend, Chinese actor Li Chen, has also commented that he is “working hard” on proposing to the 34-year-old actress soon.
