Taiwanese singer Jay Chou’s 63-year-old mother, Ye Hui Mei, recently announced her decision to transfer the responsibility of looking after her son’s assets to his wife, actress Hannah Quinlivan due to her old age. However, the actress’s mother has objected to this.
According to an inside source, Hannah’s mother felt that the 24-year-old was still too young to handle such responsibilities. As Jay had multiple investments and businesses which presented him with an annual turnover of NT$200 million (approximately S$8.95 million), Hannah’s mother was afraid that her daughter was “not mature enough to understand big financial matters” and urged Hui Mei to keep her role for the time being.
Hui Mei was initially taken aback by this statement but respected her in-law’s decisions. It was also reported that she had commended the actress’s mother for her judgement, but Jay’s company, JVR Music, has refuted that claim as “nonsense.”
Hannah might also be too busy currently, having to look after her two children, 2-year-old Hathaway and 6-month-old Romeo. She was also recently rumoured to be pregnant with her third child, but Jay has since stepped out and denied these claims.
