Is Alec Su studying in America?

Taiwanese actor-director Alec Su was recently spotted in New York University (NYU), fueling speculations that he is studying abroad as he is not currently tied up with any projects.

A Weibo post made by a fellow NYU student yesterday claimed that he saw the actor engrossed in his studies while in the photocopy room therefore couldn’t bring himself to interrupt him. Although he added stills of Alec’s character from the hit Chinese show My Fair Princess and even tagged him at the end of the post, the actor has yet to respond officially.

Alec had previously mentioned in June that he wished to take a break and make time for himself after filming his movies.

“I want to take a long vacation before deciding if I want to continue being a director,” said the 44-year-old.

It comes as no surprise if Alec has indeed gone back to school as he had always been a good student and was even ranked fifth when he was enrolled in the National Taiwan University's Department of Mechanical Engineering.

He has also directed numerous hit movies such as the 2015 Chinese drama The Left Ear and the 2017 Chinese mystery-thriller film The Devotion of Suspect X.
