Jacky Wu dismisses claims that Jerry Yan, Lin Chi-ling’s reunion was for show

The recent reunion between Taiwanese stars Lin Chi-ling and Jerry Yan have made headlines once again, this time with Jerry being the centre of attention. The singer has been rumoured by one of Chi-ling’s friends to have purposely initiated contact with her so as to gain publicity to promote his directing career.

However, these claims were dismissed by fellow host and Jerry’s good friend, Jacky Wu in a programme yesterday. The host shared that Jerry was an introvert and always cared about other people’s feelings. He added that Jerry would never have any hidden motives and would never be able to bring himself to plan such a ‘scheme’.

The 55-year-old host further dubbed the former lovers as ‘magnets,’ and said that “if they found the right people, they would often be drawn back to each other.”

“I feel that Jerry and Chi-ling are very right for one another and they have also never needed to force their feelings,” he shared.

Jacky later admitted that he has been in contact with Jerry but said that because the latter wanted to keep things low-profile, he would therefore respect his decision and make a conscious effort not to reveal too much information.

Aside from Jacky, Chi-ling’s good friend, actress Dee Hsu also took the news of the couple’s possible reunion very well. She mentioned at an event yesterday that she “hoped the reunion would come true,” and also wished for the couple to “get back together quickly.”

Jerry and Chi-ling have neither denied nor acknowledged any possibilities of them reuniting at the moment, but merely said that they were still getting to know each other, and encouraged the public to give them privacy.

The couple previously dated for six years before calling it quits in 2006.
