Jam Hsiao is not hosting 29th Golden Melody Awards: Manager
The singer was rumoured to be replacing Mickey Huang as the host for the awards show
nomination results for the 29th Golden Melody Awards, rumours broke out yesterday (May 17) that Taiwanese singer Jam Hsiao will replace Taiwanese comedian Mickey Huang as the main host of the awards show.
The singer’s manager, Summer, spoke to the media the same day and denied the rumours.
“Where did this news come from? We did not receive such an invite. We have been busy preparing for the concert next week, and do not have time to consider anything else. Even if the rumours were true, there is still too many details to be discussed,” she said.
Fans of Jam were initially surprised when the news broke out, as the singer is known to be a “man of few words”, as he often gave short and crisp replies during interviews.
Despite so, the singer is said to have grown more outspoken in recent years, and have even developed a natural flair for variety programs and hosting, as his previous appearances on Taiwanese variety-comedy talk show Here Comes KangXi, and Taiwanese entertainment news and variety show broadcast 100% Entertainment, were well-received by audiences.
