After welcoming his second child, a boy, earlier in June this year, Taiwanese multi-hyphenate Jay Chou dived straight into work, promoting his upcoming film, Ping-pong Brothers, as well as recording the second season of Chinese singing reality show, Sing!China, where he is a judge and mentor to the contestants.
During a recording of Sing!China, the father-of-two’s co-judge, Chinese singer Na Ying, asked Jay to predict which judge his child would choose if they were to come on the show.
The 38-year-old swiftly replied with “Na Ying”, praising the singer for her ability to guide children well, as well as her prowess in singing love songs, adding that it’ll be a worthwhile experience for his kid.
After hearing his answer, Hong Kong singer-actor Eason Chan, who is also a judge on the show, asked Jay, “Which kid will you bring on the show, then, since you have two?”.
Jay then tickled everyone’s funny bones with his unexpected answer, saying, “The boy? I wouldn’t let him learn music, I’ll only leave the best for my daughter.”
His love for his daughter, three-year-old Hathaway Chou has been apparent for a while now, as he once expressed his disappointment that the song he co-wrote with his daughter, ‘Past Life Lover’ was not nominated for a Golden Melody Award.
However, he has also hinted that his kids will continue to help him create his songs, as he once said, “I’ll have to rely on [Hannah]’s lover from a past life to help get [the award] that his older sister missed out on,” referring to his one-month-old son.
In other related news, Hannah has also been photographed arriving at Hangzhou, China’s Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport, to cheer her husband on as he films for Sing!China.
According to the fans who welcomed the 23-year-old at the airport, the model-actress was full of smiles and even stopped to sign autographs for all the fans who approached her, to the delight of those present.
Hannah and Jay tied the knot in 2015 before they welcomed the arrival of their daughter, Hathaway, to the family in the same year. Hannah got pregnant last year, after recovering from her ovary disorder, and delivered a baby boy last month.
