On a related note, Jay released his new song ‘If You Don’t Love Me, It’s Fine’ on May 14, and received criticism for its “old-fashioned” song lyrics. Many of his fans requested renowned lyricist Vincent Fang to rewrite the song lyrics and left comments on his Weibo, causing him to approach the singer for help.
“Vincent asked me to help him because he didn’t know how to respond to the requests,” Jay shared, “I told him he didn’t need to respond. Several of my songs, like ‘Mine Mine’ and ‘Failure at love’, have similarly light-hearted lyrics. The song is meant to be different, and it’s the way I write my love songs.”
