Jaycee Chan rumoured to be dating 16-year-old cellist

Jaycee Chan is rumoured to have started a new romance with 16-year-old cellist Nana Ouyang. He has been keeping a low profile after his marijuana scandal in August 2014, but has been slowly making his way back into the spotlight with a number of small-scale projects.

The rumoured couple is said to have kept a low profile, and the source of the information said that evidence of their relationship would have to be discovered by netizens themselves, “but only if they haven’t broken up by then”.

Eagle-eyed netizens then took on the challenge and discovered that Nana updated her social media platforms with an ambiguous post with the caption ‘123’ on December 3, which was accompanied by a picture of a birthday cake. With Nana not revealing who it was intended for, some speculated that it was for Jaycee, whose birthday falls on that very day.

Netizens also uncovered old photos of Jaycee and his mother having a meal with Nana, and that Jackie Chan, who is Jaycee’s father, had once praised Nana as a talented young star.

Others, however, have disagreed with the findings, sharing that December 3 could be Nana’s cat’s birthday, and that the photos could have been of friends having a meal together.

In response, Nana’s mother has also fiercely denied the rumours, declaring that “Everyone has gone mad!”

Nana has been in the spotlight since she was 12, when she held her first solo concert and was later admitted in the Curtis Institute of Music, one of the best music academies in the world. However, she announced that she will be departing from the institute in the middle of last year.

She grew up in a showbiz family (her aunty is famous Taiwanese singer Ouyang Fei Fei) and has been expanding her portfolio recently, landing roles in Taiwanese movie To The Fore, Chinese drama Yes! Mr Fashion and Chinese variety show, Up Idol, just to name a few.
