Was Jerry Yan addressing Lin Chi-ling during recent fanmeet?

Taiwanese singer-actor Jerry Yan’s relationship with Taiwanese model-actress Lin Chi-ling has been much talked about in the media, with the couple said to have reconciled, and then calling it quits yet again earlier this year. The lovebirds first dated for six years before breaking up in 2008.

Jerry and Chi-ling were spotted together in Malaysia late last year, giving rise to rumours that they had reconciled. However, in April this year, Chi-ling shared with the media that she was currently single, and that she could not stand the fact that Jerry had all but disappeared when the rumours of their reconciliation first broke out.

On Tuesday (October 12), Jerry held a fanmeet in Tokyo, Japan, celebrating his 10th work anniversary. During the event, he shared some words of wisdom with his fans, saying, “Take another look at those who care for you, even though they may say things that can be hard to swallow. (It is only) when I put aside my pride, ego, or the feeling that I'm being looked down on, that I realise that I can, in fact, do better.

"It turns out that I don’t need to use so many reasons to explain. Instead, I should take a closer look at myself, to face the parts of me that are not satisfactory.”

However, after the fanmeet, when the 41-year-old was asked if his words were referring to Chi-ling, Jerry gave a negative reply, through his manager, adding that he does not wish to bring up his ex-girlfriend anymore.

When asked if he had a plan to end his status as a singleton, Jerry only smiled in response.

In other unrelated news, Jerry will be releasing a photobook today and will hold a press conference in Osaka, Japan. The photobook is said to have three different covers. The exclusive limited edition copy of the photobook has since sold out completely online, even before the release date.
