JJ Lin "marries" Ayumi Hamasaki in MV

After collaborating with Jung Yonghwa from Korean boyband CNBLUE on the latter’s debut solo album, JJ Lin nails another international duet with Japanese pop diva Ayumi Hamasaki.

The homegrown artist even wrote Ayumi a song called ‘The Gift’ for her new album titled A ONE, which will be released on April 8. The song is said to be based on her transformation from a girl next door to the superstar she is today.

Calling his song a gift to Ayumi and her fans, JJ co-stars in this music video as a pianist and her onscreen love interest. In the MV, Ayumi adorns a white flora gown while JJ is clad in a black suit and he even proposes to her in one of the scenes. At the end of the MV, JJ is seen pulling Ayumi in for a quick peck on her forehead, ending it on a heartwarming and sweet note.

Heaping praises on the song that JJ wrote for her, Ayumi added that it gives off a sense of purity and she was “very happy” with how the shoot turned out. “It (the song) showcases a very good side of JJ, not just as a man but as an artiste,” she said.

Prior to this, JJ and Ayumi also performed together at his Taipei concert on Valentine’s Day this year, after meeting through a mutual friend, Alvin Goh (Ayumi’s stylist for CoLOURS who is also from Singapore) last year.

JJ had remarked back in February that Ayumi is his eye candy, saying that “it is a dream come true to be able to a duet with her”. He also complimented on her “big and beautiful eyes which made his heart race”.
