Joe Chen shoots down pregnancy rumours
The actress’s plumper figure sparked rumours that she was expecting
Taiwanese actress Joe Chen made her first appearance since Lunar New Year yesterday, for a promotional event. The 37-year-old turned up in a loose black dress, which unfortunately, made her look a little plumper than usual.
After seeing the pictures online, a couple of netizens left comments teasing Joe, jokingly asking her if she had “offended her stylist that day.” A few also pointed out that her forearms looked chubbier, and asked if she had gained weight over the holidays.
Some media outlets also speculated that the actress might be pregnant, causing a mini-debate online.
However, Joe took the comments in her stride, and candidly admitted that she had indeed “overindulged a little” over the holidays.
She then promised that she’ll “become slimmer before filming starts,” saying, “I’m known as an actress that’s not afraid of putting on a little weight due to eating [anyway]”.
