The crowd went wild for “Dancing Queen of Asia” Jolin Tsai when the Taiwanese singer happily announced two new tour dates during her third concert at Taipei Arena (May 24).

The 34-year-old, nominated for nine Golden Melody Awards this year, began her tour a few days ago (May 21) performing three consecutive nights at Taipei Arena.

When the topic of gender-neutral marriages was raised, Jolin remarked that she believes that Taiwan will follow suit in future. She added that she used to find cyberbullying and trolling unforgiveable but now she spends every day focusing on being grateful and happy, unaffected by the hate.

She smoothly ushered in the announcement by saying, “Speaking of happy things, today I want to announce even happier news, which is that I’ll be adding two new tour dates on November 7 and 8.”

The Queen of J-Pop Namie Amuro, whom Jolin collaborated with on ‘I’m Not Yours’ from PLAY, will be the special guest performer for the two added shows as the finale item.

SHE’s Ella Chen and Taiwanese TV personality Janet Hsieh, accompanied by their husbands, attended the concert that same night to support Jolin. In the middle of the concert, Jolin called out the celebrity couples to smooch for the kiss cam. Ella was a little shy, but Janet gave hubby George Young a generous kiss on the cheek.

The PLAY World Tour has a prismatic “under the sea” theme, featuring many outfit changes (around six sets this tour) and a large European bar. One of the most outstanding costumes is a mermaid outfit which she dons while performing ‘The Great Artist’ on a human-sized clamshell.
