Jolin Tsai, Jay Chou have an unexpected reunion on a flight

Following reports about Jolin Tsai, Jay Chou and Hannah Quinlivan attending China Red Star Design festival on Aug 28, fans and netizens were buzzed about the trio appearing at the same event for the first time.

As if a sign of things to come, the “Double J” ex-lovers had an unexpected reunion yesterday – in the plane. Jay and Jolin were discovered to have boarded the same flight bound for Shanghai, China, from Taipei Songshan airport, although both exited the airport separately.

At the airport, Jay was bombarded with questions about being on the same flight as his ex-lover. The 38-year-old who was protected by two bodyguards, simply smiled and went through the gates, refusing to comment.

On the other hand, Jolin was assisted by an airport staff and quietly left through the back entrance to the gates. She appeared to be in a good mood, donning a simple laid-back outfit with just a tank top and jeans and even waved to fans waiting outside.

It was previously speculated that the trio will be performing together at the festival, but the rumours have been debunked by Jolin and Jay’s management agencies.

‘Double J’ began dating in 2001 but went their separate ways four years later. It was not an amicable split as the pair avoided each other at social gatherings. Things only started getting better after Jolin wrote her song ‘The Prologue’ to Jay reminiscing on their relationship, and the two have since become friends and even performed on the same stage together multiple times before.

Jay is now married with two children while Jolin is single and focusing on her concerts.
