Jordan Chan’s son falls ill on the set of ‘Where Are We Going, Dad?’

Hong Kong actor Jordan Chan is currently appearing in the fifth season of the hit Chinese reality show Where Are We Going Dad? alongside his 4-year-old son Jasper. However, many were quick to shared their concerns about Jasper looking unwell after the third episode aired last night (Sep 28).

Jordan revealed that Jasper had fallen ill the day before the filming of the third episode and spent a night in the hospital, only returning during the second half of the programme.

Some telltale signs of Jasper’s discomfort when filming took place: Jordan was seen carrying Jasper during the whole journey back and he was also inseparable from Jasper, constantly feeling his forehead to check on his temperature. The actor also personally helped him wash his feet and boiled water for him.

This was not the first time that Jasper had made the viewers worried. The 4-year-old had previously fallen and taken a tumble to the ground, where even the photographer had to set his equipment aside to rush to the young boy’s aid. However, he remained very well-behaved and did not cry or make a fuss.

His mother, actress Cherrie Ying attributed the cause of the fall to be his new shoes.

“We knew that the programme involved them going to rural areas so we wanted to avoid any accidents by buying appropriate hiking shoes. However, Jasper could not get used to them and ironically, fell even harder,” said Cherrie.

She also did not forget to show her appreciation to the photographer by thanking him for his help and commending his attitude.

Both father and son have been a crowd favourite so far, despite their different personalities.

Where Are We going, Dad? also features Wu Chun and his two kids and Will Liu and his daughter.
