Laurinda Ho denies dating son of Chinese billionaire

Barely a month after she broke up with her boyfriend of four years, Taiwanese singer Kenji Wu, 36, Laurinda Ho is now rumoured to be seeing the only son of Chinese billionaire Liu Zhiqiang after photos surfaced of them celebrating Christmas with friends.

But Laurinda, 24, one of Macau casino mogul Stanley Ho’s many children, denied the rumours in a message she posted on Instagram yesterday: “Formal announcement: We are a group of good friends celebrating Christmas together and not on a private date. There’s no possibility of taking things further. I’m still single. Thank you.”

The man in question is 25-year-old Liu Gensen, a recent graduate of Boston University’s business school who’s working in his father’s company, Guangzhou-based real estate developer Heung Kong Group. His family net worth is US$2.3 billion (approximately S$3.2 billion), which places them at #87 on Forbes’ China Rich List this year.

Gensen and Laurinda have known each other for some time, and he reportedly began courting her once she announced she had split from Kenji in early December.

According to Hong Kong media, Laurinda only told close friends she was dating someone new, because it was too soon after she broke up with Kenji.
