Myolie Wu to opt for a natural birth

Hong Kong actress Myolie Wu made an appearance at a promotional event over the weekend, her first since announcing the news of her pregnancy on Mother’s Day.

The organisers of the event took Myolie’s pregnancy into account, and provided a chair for the four-months pregnant actress to sit on whilst on stage, and even presented her with a number of baby essentials as a gift.

The 37-year-old shared that she’s expected to pop at the end of the year, and that she will not be revealing her baby’s gender for the time being.

However, Myolie did share that her husband, businessman Philip Lee, wants a daughter, while she and her in-laws don’t have any preference when it comes to the baby’s gender, as long as the child is healthy.

Additionally, the actress also disclosed that she will be opting for a natural birth.

“It [a natural birth] will be better for the mother’s body. Although a Cesarean section wouldn’t hurt, the recovery period will be longer, and I wish to try for another baby as soon as possible,” Myolie shared.

When asked if she plans to have two babies within three years, Myolie replied that she’s not sure yet, as it’ll have to depend on her body’s condition as well. She also revealed that she wishes to have at least two children.

The first-time mother shared that her appetite has not increased much after getting pregnant. One thing that has changed, however, is her tastebuds. She revealed that she used to love sour food, but now, she can’t stand the taste of it. The actress now craves fishball soup, and has put on five kilograms.

The workaholic revealed that she has not decided if she’ll become a stay-at-home mum after giving birth, and laughed that she “immediately received” a text from her ex-boyfriend, Hong Kong actor Bosco Wong, conveying his blessings after he was asked about Myolie’s pregnancy at an event earlier.

Myolie and Philip tied the knot last December and went for a 12-city honeymoon after their big day.
