Chinese singer Faye Wong held her highly-anticipated concert, Faye’s Moments Live 2016 on December 30 and was slammed by concert attendees and viewers who watched the livestream at home for her lackluster performance.

Among the numerous netizens who took to Facebook to lash out on the singer, Chinese opera singer Gong Li Na wrote, “She (referring to Faye) lost her unique voice and aura”.

In response to the negative feedback, the 47 year-old singer’s boyfriend, Hong Kong actor Nicholas Tse jumped to her defense and wrote on his Facebook on New Year’s Day (Jan 1), “She sounds great on her own”, evoking countless praises from Faye’s fans.

“So manly,” one fan wrote. “Please tell Faye that we will always support her” said another fan.

It was said that although the actor’s company was responsible for the livestream and special effects of the concert, he did not attend the concert as he “did not have a ticket”.

The pair is currently in a stable relationship and have been dating for more than two years after their reunion in 2014, 11 years after they first broke up in 2002.
