Pakho Chau weds in secret

Hong Kong actor Pakho Chau has always been low-profile about his personal life and relationship with girlfriend Stephanie Chu, but news of him holding a secret wedding ceremony surfaced recently.

It is said that the intimate affair was held in secret over the weekend (Nov 26) at a five-star hotel in Phuket, Thailand. There were only 60 guests invited, which included Pakho’s good friend and colleague, fellow actress Shiga Lin.

Shortly after news of his wedding surfaced, the singer-songwriter responded to the wedding rumours with a statement, “Thank you for your concern, we have receive many well wishes, and you all know I do my best to protect the privacy of my loved ones. I would like to thank everyone for their understanding and support. I saw the most beautiful sunset on that day”.

News of the wedding caught fans off guard because even though the actor did proclaim his love publicly to Stephanie in his speech at the Ultimate Song Chart Awards, he said earlier that he had no plans to wed his girlfriend of eight years anytime soon because he wanted to “double” his assets before marriage, so he would be able to provide for his wife.

He had also claimed that he had been swamped with the filming of Hong Kong drama Line Walker 2, which now appears to be just a smokescreen created to distract fans from his personal life.
