Raymond Lam, Karena Ng confirm split

Hong Kong actors Raymond Lam and Karena Ng have finally opened up about their questionable relationship status and confirmed speculations that they have broken up after dating for five years.

Although the split took place several months ago, both parties kept mum about it at that time and did not comment on reports their split.

On March 19, Raymond turned up at Entertainment Expo Hong Kong 2018 looking leaner than usual.

When asked if his ‘slimmer’ appearance was due to his break up with Karena, the 38-year-old actor laughed it off.

“I’m not so weak!” he exclaimed. “However, it’s true that I broke up with Karena some time ago, and I hope everyone will stop asking me about it after this clarification.”

The actor, however, refused further comment when probed about his rumoured new squeeze, Chinese model Carina Zhang, and did not confirm that they were dating.

“I don’t want to talk about my love life anymore,” he expressed. “I want to focus on my work.”

He added that he wants to “let nature take its course” in relationship matters, and will not share further details for fear that his words will be misinterpreted by netizens.

Following Raymond’s clarification, Karena also gave her two cents’ worth on Facebook the same day.

“It was not easy for me to get over this relationship, because I gave my all in these five years,” she wrote, “Please give me time to get used to this, so that I can face this bravely in the future.”

Although the former couple kept their relationship status ambiguous for months, many netizens saw their breakup coming, as Karena was reported to have moved on from the relationship with Hong Kong businessman Brian Shi, and Raymond was also recently spotted spending time on a date with an unidentified female.
