Selina Jen shoots an advertorial with her father

Taiwanese singer-actress Selina Jen’s father, Richard Jen, recently revealed the one phrase that he wishes to say the most to his daughter is, “I love you.”

The duo recently had a shoot together for a milk brand, where they let on more details about their relationship.

Selina’s father had previously spoken at length about his harsh treatment towards Selina and her sister, Taiwanese actress Lorene Jen, as he was brought up to believe that children needed to be disciplined harshly.

“In the past, I continued the military-style upbringing passed down from the previous generation, and was excessively harsh towards Selina when she was younger. But now, I’m truly proud of her,” he said.

He shared that the one thing that he’s most proud of would be his two daughters, and that he rarely gets to meet Selina as she’s often busy. Thus, the first thing that they would do when they meet would be to hug, and that the one phrase that he wishes to say to Selina the most would be “I love you.”

Selina’s father even joked to her, “This time, you’re benefiting from me, because this brand’s products are for those aged 50 and above, so I’m the main star of today’s shoot and you’re the supporting cast.”

Richard is also known for his ability to keep himself in shape and healthy, through exercise, a healthy diet and a love for nature.

Selina herself also commented, “My parents’ health is my biggest joy! They’ve taken good care of their bodies. [Now], when it’s time for me to be filial towards them, they still have the strength to go travelling, creating a unique, one-of-a-kind memory for our family.”
