Sonia Sui’s daughter turns a month old

The actress sparked a debate among netizens after abiding to a celebratory tradition

Sonia Sui’s daughter turns a month old

Sonia Sui’s daughter, Lucy, turned a month old last week (Mar 1) and the Taiwanese actress celebrated the special occasion by giving the baby a flower bath, a popular cleansing ritual in South East Asia which is practiced to get rid of bad luck and signify a new beginning.

She shared photos from the joyous event on her Facebook, but little did she expect her action to spark a debate among netizens. A number of them warned the actress that the flowers used during the bath was probably laced with layers of pesticide, and might cause her one month-old daughter to have skin allergies afterwards.

But Sonia’s fans quickly jumped to her defense and explained that the actress probably learnt about the cleansing ritual when she delivered her first child, Max in Singapore two years ago. They backed her up and assured other netizens that the mother-of-two knows what’s best for her children.

Like his baby sister, Max had a flower bath when he turned a month old back in 2015.

The 36 year-old registered her marriage with her husband, Tony Chia in 2015 and gave birth to Max in the same year and Lucy in February 2017.
