Actress’s husband, son spend Chinese New Year in Taiwan

Sonia Sui tours Sun Moon Lake with family

Taiwanese actress and model Sonia Sui, 35, took a trip to Sun Moon Lake with her husband and 6-month-old son on the second day of Chinese New Year.

She posted photos of the trip on Facebook yesterday. “Introducing the two sillies to the beauty of Taiwan,” she wrote, referring to Tony Chia and baby Max.

The couple reportedly went to give thanks at the Wen Wu Temple at Sun Moon Lake, and Sonia’s parents were together with them.

The actress said Tony and Max got their first taste of traditional Chinese New Year customs, including the New Year vigil or shou sui (staying awake as long as possible on the eve of the new year to ensure one’s parents’ longevity) and she added that Tony thought it was a treat to get a week of holiday for Chinese New Year.

The couple married last January and Max was born in Singapore in August.
