Sonia Sui wants to try for a third child

Taiwanese model Sonia Sui turned heads at a promotional event on Tuesday (April 11), when she turned up looking as slim as ever in a white dress.

At the event, Sonia admitted that she did feel a little stressed, as this was her first public appearance after giving birth to her second child, Lucy, in February this year. As she is still breastfeeding, she is unable to go on a diet and has to keep to only 30 minutes of light exercise daily, said Sonia.

“When I was pregnant with Lucy, I gained 10 kilograms. Now, I’m only five kilograms away from my ideal weight,” she shared.

Even though she now cares for two kids, the model shared that she does not feel overwhelmed, as her husband, businessman Tony Chia and her mother-in-law will chip in to help as well.

She also added that she wishes to try for a third child, though her husband disagrees, as he feels that a couple should be able to have some time to themselves as well, and having too many kids will hinder their “couple time.”

However, even if Sonia does succeed in convincing her husband, their third child will not be arriving anytime soon, as the 36-year-old shared that it will be at least two years before they start trying for another baby.

At the event, Sonia was also asked about Taiwanese singer Cyndi Wang’s split from Taiwanese actor Yao Yuanhao. Sonia and Yuanhao dated for eight years, before breaking up in 2012. The actor was accused of having an affair with Cyndi, whom he later got together with.

The model was visibly taken aback by the question, before gathering her wits and answering, “A relationship is a person’s private matter. As bystanders, [we] should not make too many comments. Personally, I hope the two of them will be able to achieve their own happy endings.”

When asked if she is still in contact with them, Sonia stayed silent for a moment, before answering that they “don’t contact each other often,” though they were still friends.

Sonia registered her marriage with her husband, Tony Chia in 2015, gave birth to Max in the same year and Lucy in February 2017.
