Tiffany Hsu spooked by her role in horror movie

Taiwanese actress Tiffany Hsu gained mainstream success in recent years and was nominated for the Best Actress award at the Golden Horse Awards for her role in horror movie, The Tag-Along. Despite her success with the series, Tiffany announced that she will be sitting out of the third installment of the movie.

She initially said that the third part of the movie will not involve her character as it will be set in a different timeline, but she admitted during an interview at a Chinese New Year event yesterday (Feb 6) that she was actually “too traumatised” to continue with the trilogy. Tiffany added that she will also refrain from acting in horror flicks for now.

“Filming was so tiring, this movie was even scarier than the first one,” she said.

The 32 year-old actress shared that she had a number of paranormal experiences on set, and one of which even affected her co-star, Taiwanese singer Rainie Yang. Rainie felt nauseous and sick after completing a scene, but the discomfort went away mysteriously after she wore Tiffany’s amulet as protection from evil spirits.

To make matters worse, another co-star, Chinese actor River Huang could feel the presence of ghosts and see them as he has the ‘third eye’ (the ability to see sprits). But he kept his supernatural sightings a secret from Tiffany as he did not wish to further frighten her on set.

After finding success with her role in The Tag-Along, the actress starred in unreleased movies Mu Ji Zhe (loosely translated as The Witness) and Battle of Memories, and both movies will be premiering this year. She will be shuttling between Taiwan and China to attend the movies’ promotional activities soon.
