Taiwanese actress-model Vivian Hsu recently released her new book, whose Mandarin title loosely translates to “My topsy-turvy life: From a 14-year-old girl to a 40-year-old woman, Steel V’s courageous diary”.

The book, which was released online yesterday, saw thousands of fans staying up so that they will be the first few to lay their hands on their very own copy of it.

The actress-model, who’s known to be a workaholic, wrote the book while under bedrest last year, as the doctor had advised the then-pregnant 41-year-old to refrain from walking around so that her baby would be healthy.

During the 142 days, Vivian penned down all the struggles that she’d experienced in the past 26 years, including snippets about her family, showbiz debut, career and marriage.

The limited-edition version, which came with Vivian’s signature on it, were all sold out within hours of its release, with both signed and un-signed copies topping the bestseller charts.

The books will be officially released next Friday (September 16), with a mini-booklet entitled “Steel V’s physical education classes”, where Vivian discloses how she managed to slim down with the help of a healthy diet and exercise.

Vivian had underwent a difficult pregnancy last year, when she had to eat ‘13 pills a day, and had 300 injections during the course of her pregnancy’, in addition to being confined to her bed, due to her age.
