Yao Yuanhao makes first appearance after being called a liar

Cyndi Wang and Yao Yuanhao are at each other’s throats over the ongoing saga surrounding the Taiwanese singer’s leaked underwear photo. Cyndi remains insistent that the photos were leaked by her ex, who has continuously denied this, leading her to brand him “a liar without a conscience” on Facebook two weeks ago.

Yuanhao has kept quiet ever since Cyndi’s statement was posted on Aug 11 but made his first public appearance yesterday at the Taoyuan airport. The 35-year-old showed up wearing a simple blue and white t-shirt with a black outer shirt over it, looking visibly slimmer. Not only that, even though he wore sunglasses and did not give much emotion, he could not hide how exhausted and haggard he looked.

It was reported that after the scandal blew up, Yuanhao had not been eating properly and even lost 3kg due to his improper diet. However when questioned, he shrugged it off and smiled, repeating that everything was fine and normal.

He kept his head down and smiled, refusing to answer any specific questions or reveal if there were any new developments regarding the matter. Staff members from his agency immediately stepped up to say that everything has been handled over to the authorities, and all they can do next is to cooperate.

Prior to this, Yuanhao had previously talked about the scandal on Facebook twice, the first being on Jul 27, two days after the leaked pictures were discovered. He wrote a post apologising to his ex-girlfriend and admitted that he did take the picture, but only because she looked cute, and remained adamant that he did not leak it.

When Cyndi refused to believe him, he made another post once again, this time on Aug 8 about how he had been suffering in silence and did not wish to be seen as the guilty party anymore. Yuanhao even urged Cyndi to press charges in order to find the true culprit and clear his name. He also revealed that two days before he wrote the post, he had already lodged a police report to prove his innocence.

Till today, the culprit who really leaked the photos has not come forward.

Cyndi and Yuanhao dated for four years but called it quits in February. Both parties have moved on ever since.
