Zanilia Zhao shuts down pregnancy rumours with picture

Chinese actress Zanilia Zhao (Zhao Li Ying) recently announced that she’ll be taking a short hiatus from work to rest, only to be subject to speculations that she might just be carrying a bun in the oven.

Earlier, a news report had shared pictures of Chinese actor Feng Shaofeng (or William Feng), as well as an unnamed woman on a date. The woman, who was dressed in a loose black dress and a jacket, looked to be pregnant, and was supported by a female friend at times. After the pictures were published, rumours that the woman in the pictures were Zanilia began spreading.

As the 30-year-old is currently not accepting any new projects, it was speculated that the reason for Zanilia’s break was due to the fact that she’s currently three months pregnant with her co-star Shaofeng’s baby.

However, both the actress, as well as her agency, swiftly clamped down on the rumours.

“There's no such thing,” her agency responded.

Zanilia also took to her Weibo to upload a picture of herself doing the splits with a smile on her face, writing, “[I] don’t know what to say… Let’s just do a split for everyone,” adding a touch of humour to her response.

The actress will be making an appearance at a fanmeet in China in two weeks time.
