Zhang Ziyi defends Wang Feng online

Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi uploaded a video of her husband, Chinese rock singer Wang Feng goofing around on a public bus on her Weibo on Wednesday (Feb 1) and received an onslaught of negative comments for her husband’s distasteful behaviour.

The video showed the 45-year-old singer hanging by the handles of the bus and attempting to lift his body by kicking his feet up. Said video was accompanied with the caption: “This is what happens after you meet the God of Fortune”.

Netizens were enraged after watching the video and deemed the singer’s actions as “inconsiderate”.

In response to the backlash, the actress took down the video and wrote “sbtd”, which is said to be an abbreviation of a mandarin term which meant “too many stupid people,” seemingly defending her husband from netizens’ harsh comments.

Fans of the 37 year-old actress also flurried to support her after her post as they felt that the spontaneous video “was all in good fun” and that there was no need to be so harsh on the couple.

Ziyi and Wang Feng tied the knot in 2015 and welcomed the arrival of their first child (Wang Feng’s third child), Xing Xing in December in the same year.
