The newly-wedded couple decided to take their pictures (and hold the first of two wedding celebrations) in the land of the rising sun – where Kiki, who is an artist and designer, studied at. The bride-to-be got nifty and even crafted her own crown and headgear (we absolutely adore the safari crown she fashioned out of two animal soft toys – an elephant and a giraffe) for their shoot in Japan.

Their whimsical-themed photoshoot which was done during spring, when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom is perfectly filtered with a good amount of nature and natural light. The couple also ditched their white gown and suit getups and opted for more casual street wear with sweatshirts for a different part of the shoot. They are as laidback as you’d imagine them to be and, according to Taiwanese media, Kiki even wore a piece of secondhand clothing for it.

Choice of destination: Brommat and Paris in France, Matera and Alberobello in Italy

Ady takes the cake for going all out with her wedding announcement. After she posted a mushy message and very public love confession to her husband, Hong Kong multimillionaire Chen Ronglian, about becoming Mrs Chen, her manager added to the hype by sharing a series of pre-wedding pictures they took in Europe.

Check out how the bride opted for white sneakers to complement her bridal gown instead of stilettos. Cute (we’re absolutely loving this trend). For fans who can’t get enough of the lovebirds, the couple recently travelled to the Maldives to take yet another series of pictures in conjunction with their upcoming island wedding in June. One baby later (with another on the way), avid traveller and backpacker Chris finally had his wedding pictures taken with very-pregnant wife Lin Yixian, whom he married two years ago. Back then, the couple only registered their marriage and did away with the formalities and wedding dinner celebrations usually expected of celebrities as they wanted to keep things simple.

To make his wedding photoshoot extra special, the Taiwanese host-actor arranged for it to be done during their family’s month-long travels (a “babymoon” with his pregnant wife and 2-year-old daughter Lei Lei). He enlisted the help of a few photographers and a styling team, who had travelled with them to countries like Nepal, Turkey and Austria. According to Chris, that was his wife’s very first time putting on make-up and, yes, “she looked gorgeous,” he said.

Two months after announcing they’re dating, good friends Ruby Lin and Wallace Huo tied the knot in a glamorous shindig held at Bulgari Resort Bali, attended by the who’s who in showbiz, last year. In the lead-up to their big day, the couple released a set of wedding pictures taken at the resort, featuring the island’s scenic sea view.

After keeping everyone guessing about their relationship status for years (are they or are they not together?), Shu Qi and Stephen finally confirmed rumours about their romance by skipping the yes-we-are-dating stage and setting the deed in stone. They dropped the bombshell one fine weekend last year and went public about their husband-and-wife status by releasing a set of pictures they took in Europe during their vacation.

Instead of opting for the usual fancy photoshoot with multiple gowns and outfit changes, they kept it simple and casual. The bride even wore a pair of white sneakers to complement her dresses from H&M. Very budget friendly and absolutely fuss-free. Though, with good-looking subjects like them (and a gorgeous backdrop), you really don’t need anything else.

Christy and Golden’s wedding photoshoots are an honest reflection of the couple’s fun-loving and zany personalities. Christy went all out with not one but two different types of shoots – one had a traditional Chinese opera theme while the other—a more tamed-down shoot—was set in Bali, Indonesia.

This celebrity couple had a grand destination wedding which saw guests flying in from Taiwan, Hong Kong and China to attend the celebration held in Bali. Weeks before they tied the knot, they flew to New Zealand for a pre-wedding shoot at various scenic spots because Cecilia “loves its scenery and nature,” said Nicky.

A few locations they shot at in New Zealand include the Waitomo Glowwom Caves, which boasts of stunning limestone formations; the Hamilton Gardens; Queenstown, which is set by the gorgeous backdrop of The Remarkables; and the Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland, one of NZ’s most famous colourful volcanic area (featured in the picture above).

Choice of destination: England

News of Tavia and Him’s secret wedding ceremony sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry in March last year. Due to traditional European customs which state that a groom should never see his bride in her wedding dress before their big day, Karen’s husband had to absent himself from the photoshoot.
