Charmaine Sheh says she is “too short” to model her own designs

Charmaine Sheh has teamed up with athleisure brand Gourami to launch a swimsuit collection, which was unveiled at a fashion showcase in Hong Kong on June 11.

The actress admitted that she faced a lot of challenges as a first-time designer. “I had a lot of different ideas and design elements in mind, but they were very difficult to implement in the actual product,” she explained.

Charmaine also revealed that she had originally planned to come up with a kidswear collection for her godchildren, but she was told that it might not be able to happen until next year at the earliest. Still, that has not stopped her from planning to make all her godchildren model the clothes on the catwalk when the time comes.

As for whether fans can look forward to seeing her strut her stuff on the runway, Charmaine laughed and said, “I’m too short for that! I’ll leave it to the models to do it for me.”

Besides her new swimwear collection, Charmaine has also launched her own brand of lipsticks, but she clarified that acting is still her priority for now, and that she has no intentions of becoming a business mogul. “I just want to take every opportunity to explore different things,” she said.

In other news, Raymond Lam was reported to have proposed to his model girlfriend Carina Zhang after dating for a year. He is said to have popped the question on June 1 at her hometown and plans to marry her on his 40th birthday (December 8) this year.

When asked about this, Charmaine responded, “Really? I don’t know anything about it, but if it’s true, then they have my congratulations. They are a very sweet couple.”
