Myolie Wu promises to deliver ‘a fair, chubby baby’

Hong Kong actress Myolie Wu, 36, married her fiance, Hong Kong businessman Philip Lee, 42, yesterday, and during the wedding banquet at The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong, she addressed her new in-laws in their Hakka dialect, promising to give birth to “a fair and chubby baby” in time.

The actress said she and her husband plan to spend some time on their own to get used to married life before they embark on the journey towards parenthood. “We used to have a lot more freedom, but now we must respect the other and everything will have to be planned, so we need to get accustomed to this first,” she said.

Myolie’s day-long wedding started at about 7 a.m. yesterday when Philip picked her up in a Rolls Royce bridal car with 23 groomsmen by his side (Myolie had 11 bridesmaids.)

The couple served tea to their parents before heading to a private club to sign their marriage license with about 200 guests present to witness the occasion.

In the evening, Myolie and her squad — actresses Nancy Wu, Elaine Yiu, Mandy Wong, Selena Li and Paisley Wu — addressed the media. The bride said the wedding was proceeding smoothly, and she was happy and not as nervous as she thought she’d be.

Myolie added she was so moved while reading her vows that she cried, and praised her husband for being perfect.

The couple tied the knot after dating for about a year.
