Sonia Sui on baby no. 2: “Not so soon!”

Sonia hilariously revealed on social media that her flight was originally on Wednesday, but she was forced to delay the trip after Tony forgot to bring his passport to the airport. To make up for his blunder, he bought a rose in apology, and was also seen supporting his wife quietly from the sidelines last night.

After walking the red carpet and bantering with the evening’s hosts on stage, Sonia, Yann Yann and Lee Chung headed for a group doorstop interview that lasted less than three minutes (in addition to the fact that they were running on a tight schedule, it was clear that handlers were not keen to let Sonia field questions unrelated to The Laundryman, particularly those that focused on her motherhood).

Despite the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it time frame, we managed to learn three main things from the statuesque screen siren:

1. Despite being vocal with her desire to have two more kids, it seems Sonia isn’t quite ready for that just yet. When asked if she is already making plans for baby number two, she said with a laugh, “Not so soon!”

2. She’ll stick around in town for a while longer. “I never really left Singapore, I just went to Taiwan to film a commercial. I will still be here for a few more months, and my family has always been with me.”

3. She was a hazard on the set of The Laundryman, in which she plays a femme fatale who manages hitmen under the guise of a laundromat. “We keep hurting each other on set! (laughs) I’m not a professional stuntwoman, nor do I have much experience with martial arts movies. Because of this, it was difficult for everyone who had an action scene with me, whether it was Yann Yann or Joseph Chang, because not only did they have to protect themselves, they also had to protect me!”
