Tammy Chen ties the knot in Thailand

Taiwanese actress Tammy Chen wed her plastic surgeon boyfriend, Andy Xue, yesterday (Sep 26) in Thailand.

The groom shared that he was so nervous that he didn’t manage to sleep the night before, but was still subjected to the traditional wedding games, also known as gatecrashing, by her bridesmaids. He was reported to have had three stages to get through before he was allowed to see his blushing bride, during which he was forced to walk in high heels when he answered a question about their dating history wrongly.

After the games, the couple went through the tea ceremony, during which Tammy’s father wished that they “will grow old together while walking hand in hand, bear children soon and most importantly, be safe and healthy”. Choking up in tears, Tammy responded, “Dad and mum, I hope that the both of you will look after your health too.”

In the afternoon, they held a poolside ceremony where they exchanged their vows. Andy declared, “I’ll give you the whole world! Not just from today, but from the day that we acknowledged each other as soulmates. I always will.”

Tammy, who expressed that she didn’t prepare her vows in advance, shared, “I didn’t prepare anything to say but I really, really have nothing but gratitude towards you. Thank you for loving me so much… We’ll be together in good times and the bad in the future and continue our journey holding on tightly to each other’s hands.’

A downpour started during the dinner reception, but not before newly-married Peter Ho quipped that he awaits the couple to beat him at getting a bun in the oven. Following which, good buddy Cheryl Yang was poked fun at by the hosts, who asked her “not to get pregnant before the bride does”.
