Wilber Pan: "I will find another way to prove myself"

Wilber Pan's inclusion on 'The Rap of China' was questioned as he was deemed by some as “unqualified”

(Taipei July 17, 2017) Wilber Pan introduced his new album illi, with pre-sales opening on July 19 ahead of its official release on August 1.

At the pre-sale press conference, Wilber excitingly announced to his fans, “Wilber is back!” He personally wrote the lyrics for 11 songs and arranged 8 songs for the album. When asked if he could deliver a freestyle rap, Wilber immediately complied to show off his skills.

Wilber, MC HotDog, Chang Chen-yue and Kris Wu recently recorded for TV show The Rap of China in the mainland. As a producer and judge for the show, Wilber's inclusion was questioned as he was deemed by some as “unqualified”. He responded to these criticisms at the press conference, saying, “Different people have different views. They chose me to be the producer because of my experiences. I’m not an expert rapper, but I just want to deliver positive energy throughout the show. You don’t have to completely accept the producer’s views. If you think I’m unqualified for the show, it doesn’t matter, I will find another way to prove myself.”

“Do what you think is right, do not care too much about others' opinions,” he continued.
