Zhang Lei crowned The Voice of China 4 champion
Chinese folk singer from Team Na Ying emerges triumphant after weeks of intense competition

Jay Chou was spot on in his words when he told Zhang Lei, the folk singer and final representative from Na Ying’s team, that he’d go far in his singing career with his guitar. The multi-hyphenate’s words rang true at The Voice of China 4 Grand Final yesterday when the Mudanjiang, Heilongjiang 34-year-old was voted the winner by both the media and public. A crowd favourite for putting folk songs in the spotlight again, Zhang Lei edged out his competitor, singer-rapper Queen T from Jay’s team, and nailed a resounding victory at the Beijing National Stadium with a stirring heartfelt rendition of ‘Lu Xing’ to which he did with his guitar in hand - no less.
